• No doubt fed up with being called "young" Lewis Carter, we are now happy to report that he has acquired a different name. From now on he is "Lewsi" Carter, thanks to the rather wayward spelling of the timekeeper's sheets. Commenting on Lewsi's three-quarter length pantaloons, Peter Sowerby pointed out that they went all the way to his ankles at the beginning of the season but these 14-year olds grow quickly......
  
  
• The downside of having many spectators and many kids with free access to the paddock is that things get nicked. Regrettably a few bits went missing, as did some of the prized Ferrari emblem valve caps, which are probably now residing on some Viva in Liverpool, and there's a house near Silverstone with Ferrari bunting draped across it. You can't trust anyone.
  
  
• Notably absent was the Club's secretariat. Peter was Ferrari-ferrying the groom to Jim and Janet Rice's daughters wedding. Congratulations! This also explains why we had to use the Oulton caterers as the Rice's couldn't do it.
  
  
• Ollie Morley was well dejected following his Donington engine failure. He felt that the repaired unit had lost its edge and he was slower than at the same meeting last year. His race result will have done nothing to cheer him up and he is watching his season rather slipping away. The commentators certainly gave him a lot of mention but what did they mean by saying : "he is very famous for his XR2 exploits but we won't go into that"?
  
  
• Robin Ward was a really torn man. Desperate for his one-off race in Chris Catt's 355/Ch, he was anxiously trying to find a way around paying his £300 registration fee. Even the offer not to run for points would not sway the organisers. Is that maybe why he didn't do the race?
  
  
• We hope it was his wheels he was talking about but Ian Hetherington was telling everyone who would listen that an extra 2" would make all the difference. We will see if we can find out some more.
  
  
• Terry Coleman really did get on the wrong side of the Powers That Be. He had to have a chat with the Clerk of the Course after the race, when he got in Marco Attard's way during the lapping incident. Marco, usually a placid character, was livid and Terry got fined £50 and docked three points on his licence.
  
  
• The ever-increasing prowess of the Damax boys was explained by Robin as being due to his "driver coaching". But what role does Les Charneca's hair colour play? It's getting more garish by the meeting.
