Strong demand for Maserati
Paolo Marinsek, managing director of Ferrari, said Maserati has received almost 700 orders for the 3200 GT coupe unveiled last year. The new car will help take Maserati's 1999 production to over 2,000 units. The 2,000-unit level has not been reached at Maserati since 1990, when 2,224 cars were built. Last year 734 cars were built. The company made just 609 units in 1997.
