Maserati Likely To Race in 2001
With the recent news that Ferrari SpA have taken over 100% of the ownership of Maserati comes the distinct possibility that the Trident marque will re-enter the international racing scene in 2001 with a sports-racing car developed for the ALMS/SportsRacing World Cup series'
The car will most likely be designed and built by the Ferrari-affiliated Michelotto team, although Dallara may have significant input, as they did with the F333SP.
The ageing Ferrari 333SP design will be given a final up-date by Michelotto for the 2000 season but thereafter will be dropped in favour of the new Maserati sports racer.
