*Ferraris Feature in 2004 British GT
*1.4.04

The 2004 British GT Championship begins this weekend at Donington Park in Derbyshire.

The main changes are that there won't be any "big bangers" due to insufficient interest, but that means that the 360 Modena GTs running in the N-GT class will be vying for overall positions. There will be two 60-minute races over the two-day meetings.

The main N-GT class will feature the Mosler, TVR and Porsche marques, but the best news for Ferrari fans is that 2003 Pirelli Maranello Challenge Champions, Scuderia Ecosse, will be entering a pair of Ferrari 360 GTs.

One will be a brand new 360 GTC for ex-F3 and FIA GT racer Andrew Kirkaldy and 2001 PMFC revelation Nathan Kinch. A 2003-model 360 GT will be entered for PMFC regular Chris Niarchos and Tim Mullen. The series represents another step on the ladder to the team's aim of a win in the N-GT class at Le Mans.

Damax took part in the pre-season test at Brands Hatch with their 360 GT and have entered the car for Donington for Marco Attard (yet another PMFC star) and erstwhile C2 World Champion Nick Adams to share.

The subsidiary GT Cup class features cars from a wide variety of manufacturers hoping to challenge the previously dominant Porsches. DRM Racing (with preparation by Shiltech) are entering two Ferrari 360/Chs for ex-Formula Opel pilot Adam Wilcox and Portuguese driver Ni Amorim. Former single-seater driver Lourenço Beirão da Veiga will make the move to GT Racing and drive the sister car - his co-driver is yet to be announced. Not certain yet is the entry of David Back's 360/Ch to be shared with Chris Catt.

Rollcentre Racing is entering a Noble M12 GTO and other manufacturers include Morgan, Lotus, Renault and Vauxhall, which should ensure variety and entertainment.

The Championship will be run over 16 rounds, all over the UK and also visiting Mondello Park in Eire.
