Ride In A Ferrari For Charity
24.2.04------------------

Roy Twycross is once again organising his annual Ride in a Ferrari event in aid of the Jennifer Trust for Spinal Muscular Atrophy.

All Ferrari drivers who would like to "sell" rides in their cars are invited and of course all members of the general public who would like to have a ride in a Ferrari for a small contribution to the charity.

Roy writes:
"Please accept this as your formal invitation to attend this year's Ride In A Ferrari and Help Fight Spinal Muscular Atrophy [once again in aid of the Jennifer Trust for Spinal Muscular Atrophy]. The event will take place on Saturday 5 June 2004 at the Wyevale Garden Centre, on the A352 Wareham Road at Owermoigne between Dorchester and Wareham in Dorset. Maps are available for those who haven't been before.

We were made very welcome last year, with lunch and cold drinks laid on
during the day for those taking part in the event. David Hollinghurst, manager, and his team at Wyevale also offer a range of food and drink in the on-site cafeteria and the garden centre contains many different shopping areas as well as garden products.

I am hoping that we will see members of the charity from the local area
attend this year as so many of them were unable to get there last time due to ill-health. I am still hopeful that we will be able to get at least one
well-known personality as a guest and we will no doubt be in the local press as a preview and review of the event.

If anyone requires further information about the event or, as mentioned
previously, needs a map to find the location (once again there will be road signs erected on the day of the event to guide you into the venue), please do not hesitate to contact me.

Extra to this, I have been in contact with Autocar magazine and Classic
Cars magazine, both of which want to feature the event in the pages of their publications. Ben Oliver of Autocar has offered to bring (say it quietly!) a Porsche 911 Turbo. At least, we might get our celebrity that way. Once again David (the manager at Wyevale) will offer the buffet lunch for all taking part and will give us the freedom of the grounds to run the event. We also hope to put one or more cars aside during the day, so that people can have their picture taken sitting at the wheel of a Ferrari for a small extra charge."
