The Silverstone 1000km race took place on Saturday, to LMES regulations. The race was run under diabollically wet conditions and much of the first half of the six hour event was behind the safety car. As it began to dry out there was a thrilling chase for the lead as the ORECA Audi R8 of Allan McNish and Stephane Ortelli hunted down the Creation DBA Judd of Nicolas Minassian and Jamie Campbell-Walter. The Scot caught and passed Cambell-Walter with just 18 laps to go, then handed over to Ortelli who took the win by just 6.569 seconds!

The MenX Ferrari 550M driven by Peter Kox, Robert Pergi and Jarek Janis came home fifth overall and took the GT1 win. Scuderia Ecosse's Nathan Kinch & Andrew Kirkaldy brought their 360GTC home fourth in GT2.
