Britcar - Wrecks to Winners
by Arthur Beattie
24.11.05

Cheshire-based JMH Automotive really had their work cut out at the Britcar race at Brands Hatch last weekend as both of their cars were wrecked in testing accidents!

The Phil Burton/Adam Wilcox 360 had a 120kmh accident coming onto the pit straight in the first test session on the Friday and the whole offside rear of the car was badly damaged.

In the first session of the afternoon their second car, the 360/Ch. of Oliver & Nick Morley went off at Surtees at 140kmh, the rear end was crushed and the car set itself on fire for good measure!

Undaunted, the team set to and it took 11 hours to repair the Burton & Wilcox car and 9 hours to repair the Morley car, but it was worth the long night as the cars ran well throughout the race the next day to take first and third in the GT3 class (fourth & tenth O/A) respectively.

The race was a Pirelli Ferrari Maranello Challenge old boys event, as in additon to Burton and Ollie Morley, Rod Carman (sharing his 360 with Aaron Scott) finished fourth in GT3 and Witt Gamski (355/Ch.) came home fifth in Class 1.
