Ferrari participation in this classic was again sadly restricted to the GT categories. Five 430GTs were entered in in the GT2 class. Scuderia Ecosse had a strong team of Kirkaldy/Niarchos/Mullen, qualified quickest in class and led when forced to retire with a broken driveshaft - they vow, MacArthur like, to return.

The old Le Mans enemy Porsche won the class, but the American Risi Competizione 430GT of Krohn/Johnson/Braun was second. The only other surviving 430 was the AF Corse car of Macari/Aucott/Newey and, yes, Newey is Adrian Newey, the top F1 designer, currently at Red Bull.

The Convers Menx 550M (Prodrive Mk.1) was the sole Ferrari representative in GT1; the near historic car survived to come home 14th. The class was taken by an Aston Martin DBR9 (Prodrive Mk.2). For the record, the race was won by the sole surviving Audi R10 TDI, that of Biela/Pirro/Werner, with the Peugeot 908, driven by Lamy/Sarazzin and Champ Car Champion and F1 prospect Sebastien Bourdais, second. Both cars are of course so-called diesels.
