Membership of the Ferrari Owners’ Club is open to anyone who either owns or has owned a Ferrari. If you do not yet fit into either category you can join our separate Prancing Horse Register. The membership year runs from 1st November to 31st October and Members can register their spouses to share their membership.
The Club is international in concept, with members in 36 different countries. It has something to offer all its members, whether their interests lie in competition, the realisation of the performance built into their cars, excellence in presentation, socialising or simply enjoying the Club’s magazine, the monthly eZine and website.
The Club is administered by a Board of Directors and an Operations Committee, who are only too happy to offer help to any members seeking information or advice.
In 1976 a separate “club” within the general orbit of the Ferrari Owners’ Club was formed for enthusiasts of the marque Ferrari who do not own one themselves.
This is called the Prancing Horse Register and is run by the Club’s Secretariat. Membership benefits include the opportunity to attend many Club events, to assist in running those events, to subscribe to the Club’s publications and to purchase and display the insignias and logos of the Prancing Horse Register.
The Club organises a great variety of events each year. The social side of these is important in that members attending events can meet others with whom they share a major interest, thereby enhancing their enjoyment of the Club and ownership of their Ferrari. Including all the local area meetings, there are in excess of 100 events on the calendar.
These allow you to drive your Ferrari on circuits such as Silverstone and Goodwood, and are occasions when you can enjoy the freedom of driving without speed restrictions and can appreciate the levels of performance that are available from your car. As a result, you could be both a better and safer driver in normal everyday motoring.
Pirelli Ferrari formula classic
This Club racing series consists of 16 individual races and caters basically for any Ferrari built prior to 1997 i.e. up to and including the tipo 550, but excluding turbo-charged cars like the 288GTO and F40.
Hillclimbs and Sprints
The Pirelli Ferrari Hillclimb Championship takes place over 13 rounds (best 8 to count) and is intended for standard road-going Ferraris. There is a handicap points system (“Performance Equaliser Percentage”) which allows the various tipos to compete with each other on a level basis.
Summer Garden Party & Concours
This major annual event has attracted more than 400 Ferraris old and new, and is usually held in the grounds of a fine country house. There is a concours competition for those who enjoy showing their Ferraris and it’s an event guaranteed to be enjoyed by all the family, in a true garden party atmosphere.
Social Occasions
The main social event is the Gala Dinner & Dance held in the spring of each year. There is another special dinner on the eve of the Garden Party in the summer. The AGM is followed by luncheon and the prizegiving of many fine trophies which tell the history of the Club and its members over the years. Other dinners round off the end of each season for the racing and hillclimb championships. Special lunches at track days provide an informal meeting place for enthusiasts, circuit drivers and their guests. Christmas functions are held in various Area Group locations.
Invitations
Invitations are received from the major motoring festivals and motor sport events in the UK and world-wide, as well as motor shows national and local, dealers’ own track days, other car clubs’ events, including major historic gatherings, the overseas Ferrari Clubs and European tours and events where Ferraris take part such as the Tour de France and the Mille Miglia.
Area Groups
There are over 20 regional groups of Club members who get together on a regular basis and organise their own local events.
Dealership Scheme
For the buyers of a new Ferrari who have not previously been members of the Ferrari Owners’ Club, the Club operates a scheme of complimentary membership from time of purchase to the end of that membership year. If you are such a first time purchaser please consult your dealer for further action.
