Kicking off 2023 at the Racing Car Show

Posted on January 17, 2023.

Autosport International presents a unique opportunity for the Club to promote the Superformance Ferrari Club Classic and the Ferrari Hillclimb Championship to a new audience – enticing new entries and safeguarding the future of competition within the Ferrari Owners’ Club for years to come.

A cornerstone event of years past, Autosport International is home to three events in one; the Racing Car Show, the Engineering Show, and the Performance & Tuning Car Show. Amongst the three halls the Ferrari Owners’ Club held a modest stand with the 355 Challenge race car of Nicky Paul-Barron on display – special thanks go to Nicky for loaning the car.

After a three year hiatus it was good to see so many enthused and eager motorsport fans again. Whilst smaller than previous years the show proved a smelting pot of opportunities for ticket holders and exhibitors alike. With plenty of interest from members and non-member Ferrari owners we could see some new names competing in the SFCC and PFHC over the next few years.

A reveal of the new race series decals took place with Colin Sowter of Superformance removing the cover. Thanks to our series sponsors Superformance, Ferrari Financial Services, QV London, RnR Performance Cars, Meguiar’s and Pirelli for their ongoing support as we head into 2023.

The show followed its well established format, covering virtually every facet of motor sport, spanning from karts to Formula One. The concurrent Performance & Tuning Car Show provided a variety of offerings, including some really wild custom creations, notably those on the expansive Kream stand, which no doubt may offend the purist, but one can’t help but be impressed by the creative thoughts and skills that make the offerings truly eye catching.
