A cold but dry Donington Park National circuit saw the opening round of the inaugural Bell Sport Challenge racing series and a strong grid of Ferrari Challenge cars lined up to contest races 1 & 2.
Running across 4 classes, the first round’s two races saw a mix of 360, 430 and 488 Challenge cars (including a 430 GT3) lining up on the famous Donington Park National circuit on a very busy opening race weekend of the 2023 season with everything from the Porsche Club Championship to GT Cup alongside on the bill.
It was a hard charging Wayne Marrs that dominated the first round – topping qualifying and winning both races although strong performances from Andy Christopher (430) and Darren Goes (488) kept him on his toes.

Round 2 of the Bell Sport Challenge Series takes place at Snetterton on the 4th June 2023.
What is the Bell Sports Challenge Series?
Ferrari’s GT cars have always been highly competitive in the hands of privateers, and their racing achievements have played a fundamental role in the company’s motor sport history. That’s why the Ferrari Challenge one-make racing series was created – it was Ferrari’s way of getting owners of its road-going GT cars back on the track.
As Ferrari’s official series continues to focus on the latest iteration of the road car derived racer, there are a large number of the earlier generations of Ferrari Challenge car without a dedicated arena in which to compete in the UK
New for 2023, The Bell Sport Challenge Series is a unique UK based one make race series dedicated to paddle-shift era Ferrari Challenge Cars running in multiple class structure:
360 // 430 // 458 // 488 non-Evo
Supported by the Ferrari Owner’s Club of Great Britain, with race organisation by MSVR the series offers a premium paddock set up with centralisation for race teams and their support crews, providing the perfect environment for racing.
